Life Styles Inventory

"Know thyself." These words, attributed to Socrates, were inscribed on the Temple of Delphi over 2,000 years ago. The idea that we should learn all we can about ourselves has stood the test of time: our quest toward self-discovery continues today, although it is perhaps more difficult in our sophisticated world.
Knowing who you are now is the first and most important step in deciding who you will be in the future. Years of research have established that the information needed to allow insight, growth and self-improvement to occur is contained within out thoughts. Human Synergistics believes that if people are provided with accurate information about the way they think, they can bring about positive, productive changes in their behaviour, and increase their overall effectiveness.
The Life Styles Inventory was developed to assist you in the fascinating process of getting to know yourself. Based on a combination of respected psychological and management development theories, the inventory helps you identify your beliefs, values, behaviours, and assumptions about yourself. The LSI is all about you: your career, your health, your relationships, your well-being.
Nothing is gained from using a self-development tool that makes everyone feel wonderful. For this reason, the LSI distinguishes thinking patterns, or "styles" that are either effective or ineffective. The inventory provides a quantified method for looking at strengths as well as self- defeating behaviours, in the hope that one will further improve what is good, and work to change what could be better.
The 12 LSI styles represent various ways in which we choose to think about ourselves. These thinking styles influence our behaviour in all areas of life. If you feel some aspects of your current behaviour are not in your best interest, it is possible to change them. The Self-Development Guide contains action-oriented suggestions and a detailed self-improvement plan to bhelp you make these changes.
Using the LSI, we are confident that you will come to "know yourself" as you are now, and become the person you want to be. By completing the inventory, you will take the first step in an exciting adventure toward personal growth.
