Self-Managed
Communication and Conflict Resolution (Workshop)
Speaker: Birgit
Langwisch
The costs of conflict in an organization are difficult to measure but easy to see. Low morale, lack of co-operation, poor communication and even poorer results are often evidence that people lack the skills needed to motivate themselves and lead others through the stress and complexities of organizational life.
This workshop focuses on identifying and clarifying the links between self-management as an intrapersonal choice and interpersonal success in effective communication, especially in dealing with difficult situations, including conflict. Whether you need to clear up a simple misunderstanding, get agreement on a change in someone's behaviour or negotiate a situation to get a win/win solution, managing ourselves is the first step to success with others. The content of this workshop will provide a solid foundation for developing the skills needed for successfully dealing with the people and the problems they often bring to us.
Learn to understand where you "are" and where you need to "be" emotionally in order to create a climate that supports effective communication and creative problem-solving, rather than one that encourages evaluation, laying blame and defensiveness.
Workshop content is presented in a combination of lecturette, interactive exercises, case studies, role plays and lots of opportunity to practice.
