Using
Mediation And Negotiation Techniques
to Resolve Conflict
Speaker: Birgit
Langwisch
Conflict is inevitable. Whether we recognize ourselves as conflict resolvers or not, the fact is that daily life and work regularly involves us in the process of mediating interpersonal disputes, negotiating priorities and just generally "sorting stuff out", not only for ourselves, but also for others when they are unable to do this for themselves.
This two-day workshop begins with understanding the basic dynamics of conflict and focuses on recognizing thinking habits that may get in the way of our ability to manage conflict successfully. Secondly, the session will focus on the development of skills and techniques used by professional mediators and negotiators to help "non-professionals" increase their effectiveness, both in creating a climate that reduces the likelihood of conflict, and also in increasing the ability to resolve it when conflict does occur.
Learn to make and practice communication choices that will increase personal effectiveness in dealing with difficulties, as well as model the kind of conflict resolution processes that will increase employees' effectiveness in dealing with one another.
